The board is made up of large squares with figures drawn by the artist Marta Beltrán. Each member of the audience receives a card. Through playing with the cards and the stories that emerge, the panels unfold with the Metamorphoses of different mythological characters. Each Metamorphosis is accompanied by a chosen sound environment and movements. With all the elements: the stories, the music, and the movements, a choreography is created in which audiences, young and old, are invited to participate.
A predominantly visual piece with articulated puppets emerging from old books and school notebooks. It is based on the award-winning novel by Patxi Zubizarreta, which holds within its pages the magic of two separate stories. On one hand, Nora, a girl disguised as a giraffe, is taken to a hospital where she finds herself in the bed next to Kuru, an African boy, who doesn’t want to talk about his sad adventure. This is where the other story begins, that of a giraffe that left Ethiopia and arrived in Paris via Khartoum, Cairo, Alexandria, and Marseille in 1826. In the end, back in reality, Nora gives up her disguise and becomes an accomplice to Kuru’s escape. In her head, she only thinks: Run, Kuru, run! Like the giraffe in her story, the giraffe boy takes a giant leap out the window that will take him to freedom.
