Carmentxu and the little ghost

A story of friendship between a “special” girl and a little ghost

Length

45 minutes

Age

6-9 years old

Carmenchu has no relatives other than her aunt Edurne. When the ghost Chan appears in his room, his life changes completely. Playing together, chatting, laughing, they have a great time. But the adults don’t see the ghost. They think the girl is not “right” in the head. Then, together they embark on a journey until they reach a town celebrating feasts…

Through this story, topics such as the imaginary friend and the possibility of integration of “different” children are raised.

The initial idea to perform the puppet play Carmentxu and the little ghost, based on the story by Mariasun Landa, arose in early 2014 between Pantzart and Bihar Puppet Company. Mariasun Landa is one of the most translated writers of Basque literature. The work premiered at the Tolosa International Puppet Festival, Titirijai, in 2014. Now, from Pantzart Company we propose to make a new version to adapt it to all types of spaces and give it a fresh and renewed air.
